A client of Jurach, Tacey & Quitiquit was charged with two counts of Grand Larceny in violation of §18.2-95, in Hanover County, Virginia. The client was charged with stealing multiple items on various days. Conviction of Grand Larceny would have had many negative impacts for any client. Grand Larceny carries up to a 20 year prison sentence, in addition to fines and a felony record. Our client had received offers for a multiple year prison sentence, but after review of the facts with our attorney was confident in taking the matter to trial in Circuit Court. During trial our attorney was able to find weaknesses in the testimony of the Commonwealth’s witnesses. The Judge dismissed one count of Grand Larceny and reduced the other to Petit Larceny. Our client was elated as the Petit Larceny was not a felony and only a misdemeanor.
