VASAP Violations
Have you run into problems with the Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program commonly referred to as VASAP? Our lawyers regularly handle VASAP violations. Most clients will only deal with VASAP as a requirement for a DUI conviction. There are many conditions that come along with VASAP, from meetings to potential interlock issues. One tip we typically give clients that are enrolling into VASAP is to go over the paperwork in detail. An additional protection is to communicate with any program, pre or post trial via-email. A lot of the laws concerning DUI’s and the requirements post-conviction have changed in recent years. It is always a good idea to speak to a lawyer if you are charged with a DUI or are having issues with VASAP post-conviction.
One of the criminal lawyers from Jurach, Tacey & Quitiquit recently successfully defended a client in the King and Queen General District Court. The client was charged with violating §18.2-271.1, a VASAP Violation, due to alleged violations of the terms of the Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program. Our lawyer was able to use their knowledge of the law, the court system, and argument to have the alleged violation dismissed. Another great victory for one of our clients. The issue with VASAP violations that is troublesome is that if you are removed from the program you will likely lose your ability to drive.
Tony Quitiquit, Brian Tacey, and Adam Jurach regularly handle serious Criminal cases in King & Queen as well as Hanover, Henrico, Chesterfield, Richmond, and the surrounding jurisdictions.
